Research for Calendar Months

For my 3D Modelling and Animation project for the first semester, I am going to create three 3D calendar images. The months I have chosen are March, November and December

March

I have chosen March as it is one of my favourite months. After the cold spell of winter has passed, everything is starting afresh, from the wildlife to trees and plants. It creates a really good atmosphere which I feel makes it one of the best months. Not only that but my birthday falls during this month!

On my research board, I have shown the flower of March, the daffodil as a prominent feature. This signifies the start of spring and new life, ready for a new year ahead. I have also added in two of the main celebrations that occur during this month, St. Patrick's Day and St. David's Day.

On the mood board, I have shown new flowers right across a field which is a common sight during March and spring and the blackbird and rabbit show the wildlife that is around during this time, really giving a feel for the month.

November

I have chosen November as one of my months as I really enjoy bonfire night, even though the air is freezing cold, standing round a large roaring fire with fireworks lighting up the sky is always a highlight of the year.

My research board heavily shows Guy Fawkes night, with an image of Guy Fawkes himself, a roaring bonfire and a firework exploding in the sky.
My mood board shows a typical autumn scene in some woodland, highlighting all of the leaves fallen from the trees, marking the ending of the year. The man wrapped up walking through the scene shows the peacefulness at the time of year and also getting out and about, as many people do.

December

When choosing my months, I could not forget December. With the summer truly gone for another year, the dark long nights set in and a chill in the air makes the festive season a real favourite.

My research board shows a wonderful snowy winter scene with the festive decorations hanging and filling the image. The decorated tree and presents really highlights the festive season.

My mood board, again shows a snowy scene indicating the chilly temperature during this month and this is also highlighted with the woman on the right wrapped up and keeping warm. However, there is a warm glow coming from the group of people on the left showing the family all together, happy during this month.

You have selected a wide range of interesting images to represent each of your chosen months. I particularly like your November boards due to the way you have arranged the images. You used your Photoshop skills from last year well. Good job.
